Joy Bells Embroidered Sweater

This is a vintage knitting pattern for a short sleeved sweater with crochet edging, and eyelets in the middle of the neckline with a chain of yarn threaded through. There are bobbled 'joy bells' which are later embroidered around with coloured wool, making this sweater so festive and celebratory. The pattern is taken from Sun Glo series 57. This book is from the 1940s and featured women’s garments, mostly sweaters and tops. 

This pattern is made to fit a 32-34 inch bust.

Materials required:

• 6-8 skeins Sun-Glo Shrinkproof 3-ply fingering weight wool, as well as a small quantity of other colours. This wool can be substituted with modern materials to achieve a gauge of 7 stitches x 9 rows for 1 x 1 inches.
• Knitting needles size UK 10/3.25mm.
• Knitting needles size UK 12/2.75mm. 
• 1 crochet hook.
